Competition Rules


ITF UNION COMPETITION 

The International Taekwon-Do Federation Union (ITFU) Tournament rules, updated for 2022, is a guide to competitive Taekwon-Do competition in this country for clubs governed by ITFU ENGLAND.


Sparring Points:


1 Point: Punch directed at the body or face.

2 Points: Kick directed to the body.

3 Points: Kick directed to the face.

When the shot is jumping and has a clear take-off, one point will be added to the scores mentioned above.


Sanctions in Sparring:


Verbal warnings:

  1. Talking.
  2. Not presenting sparring.
  3. Not listening.
  4. Reducing contact.


Warning:

  1. Celebrate the points.
  2. Go completely out of the competition area.
  3. Falls, intentionally or not.
  4. Fake an injury.
  5. Intentionally avoid combat.
  6. Unintentionally attack an illegal target. 
  7. Accommodate the equipment without the consent of the referee.
  8. Push with hands, shoulders or body.


Minus Point:

  1. Excess contact.
  2. Attack a fallen opponent.
  3. Leg sweep.
  4. Hold or grab.
  5. Intentional hit to a prohibited zone.
  6. Unsportsmanlike and disrespectful conduct towards the authorities. Failure to obey orders and recommendations of the referee


Observations:

In case of a tie, one more round of 1 (one) minute will be held. If the tie persists, it will be defined at the 1st point.


Type of contact: Always correct, dynamic and controlled.
